-The Steel School of Irish Dance was founded in 1981 by Carol Del Bianco in Vancouver, British Columbia, and has since expanded to open their own studio in Cloverdale, with classes in White Rock also available.  The school was taken over by Carol's daughter Jacquelyn Hardychuk in 2009.  From a small group of fewer than 20 dancers, the school is now home to over 100 students! Dancers at Steel School range in age from 3 to adult and classes range in level from new beginner through Open Championship.  Since the school opened, dancers have competed and been successful at the Regional, National, and International levels. The Steel School of Irish Dance is a competitive school.  Although competitions are not necessary, students at the school are encouraged to compete in both local and out of town feiseanna (competitions) as much as possible.  There are, however, students in the school who do not wish to compete, and recreational classes are offered as well! Dancing in the community and sharing our love for Irish dance is very important to us.  When we're not competing, you can often find us dancing at various venues throughout the year.  Dancers from the school perform at weddings, birthdays, community festivals, trade fairs, and nursing homes just to name a few! With all the preparation, performances, competitions, and travel, both the dancers and their families develop life long friendships!

−	The Stewart School of Irish Dance has been in operation for over 30 years and has several dancers who have qualified and successfully competed at both National and World levels. Classes are offered in four locations throughout the Greater Vancouver area to students aged 4 to adult. Each class is divided by level (beginner/intermediate and advanced).
−	~~Stewart School hosts an annual Feis every June on Fathers Day Weekend, where 600+ dancers from across North America compete.~~
−	It's not all about classes and competing though. The black, green and pink of the Stewart school are often seen throughout the Lower Mainland at special events, like the Highland games or Canada Day Celebrations. Stewart dancers also participate in a number of community events whether it be a dance festival, a patriotic parade, St. Patrick's day dance-outs or simply entertaining in nursing homes and hospitals. Our annual "Day in Killarney" show offers the dancers a stage on which to display their talents to family, friends and anyone interested in seeing the Stewart school perform.
