Culkin School of Traditional Irish Dance
While competition is not the sole focus of the Culkin School, students who wish to compete are trained so that they can do so to the best of their ability. This has resulted in a successful record for the school, which holds four 2006 regional championship titles and has held 15 championship solo and team titles in the last eight years.
The Culkin School has performed at the White House, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the National Theatre with the Trinity Irish Dance Company, the Irish Embassy Residence, Strathmore and at Wolf Trap National Park, and have also performed with many internationally renowned Irish musicians, including the Chieftains, Cherish the Ladies, Eileen Ivers, Lunasa and Natalie MacMaster. Culkin students have also been seen at many area festivals, including the Potomac Celtic Festival, the Maryland Renaissance Festival, the Washington Irish Festival and the Baltimore Irish Festival.
Classes are held in Arbutus, Bethesda, Kensington, Rockville and Silver Spring, Maryland.
